India forecasts stronger economic growth for 2025–26, exceeding earlier estimates

Must read

India’s National Statistics Office has projected that the economy is set to grow at 7.4% in the fiscal year 2025–26, surpassing earlier estimates of 6.3%–6.8% and signaling stronger momentum in domestic consumption, investment, and manufacturing activity. The updated growth forecast also highlights improvements in private consumption, which accounts for roughly 60% of GDP, and increased construction output, although agricultural growth is expected to moderate. Analysts said this revised estimate will influence planning priorities in the upcoming federal budget and reflects confidence in India’s ability to maintain resilient growth despite global economic uncertainties.
